Rifle hunts- Our rifle hunts are done primarily by “spot and stalk”, with stalks ranging from a few hundred yards to over a mile. It is not uncommon to walk several miles or more in a day. We also sit at water holes periodically, especially if we have dry conditions. You don’t have to be in great shape to do these hunts, but it will be more enjoyable and increase your chances of success if you are able to walk several miles.
Archery hunts- Our archery hunts are done primarily from ladder stands set up near water holes or fence crossings. These locations are monitored before the hunt using game cameras. On days with the wind exceeding 20 mph, “spot and stalk” hunting may be an option.
Rifle hunts- Shot distances vary between 50-300 yards but we make every effort to get the hunter within their comfortable range. We never pressure a hunter to take a shot they are not comfortable with. We highly recommend that hunters practice shooting prior to the hunt from shooting sticks just like we do during the hunt.
Archery hunts- We hunt from ladder stands positioned near water holes and fence crossings. Shot distances vary from 10-50 yards with most shots being from 20-30 yards. “Spot and stalk” may also be an option on windy days and you can expect 30-70 yard shots.
